Let us preface this story by saying one thing: you can always buy a Classic Controller or wireless GameCube controller for cheap. You may even save money going the acceptable route. Just the same a man (with too much time on his hands) has custom created his very own version of a GCN controller for the Wii through a tonne of effort and ingenuity.

YouTube user, marcan42 doctored up a GameCube controller along with part of a Wii nunchuk and a PIC18F4520 microcontroller to create his very own gaming version of Frankenstein’s monster.

The incredible amount of work and mess make marcan42′s alternative pretty impractical for the average person but check out the video anyway just to see what time and brains can create.

Check out the video in question here.
