We’re hiring! Unfortunately, we really can’t afford to pay you to do it – not yet, anyway. If you’re still reading, however, there is an upside.
Techviva gets about 5000 readers weekly and contributing a couple posts daily for a website with that much traffic is sure to generate a lot of interest in your résumé, right? Couple that with your own by-line and a letter of recommendation and you’ve got a head start that not many people have. If you’re really good, there’s always a chance you could replace one of us get hired full-time as well!
People who write for us generally:
- Have an interest in technology, gaming and/or pop culture.
- Have written before, in some capacity.
- Have experience with WordPress or some type of content management system.
- Have experience with Photoshop and know how to resize pictures.
In addition, ideally our candidates:
- Would be enrolled or have just completed post-secondary education.
As a writer you’ll be responsible for:
- Researching and repurposing news topics.
- Summarizing news items into 100-150 word digestible tidbits.
- Finding and resizing appropriate accompanying pictures.
- Answering our e-mails from time to time.
