Amazon and Google Partner for Android Music App
Today’s unveiling of Google’s Android mobile internet OS is set to illustrate even more of the software’s features but for now we’ve already been shown an interesting application designed with aid from currently partnered company, Amazon.
Google and Amazon have worked together to create a music application for Android that is planned to provide the same functionality for upcoming phones/browsers that the iPhone enjoys with its built-in iTunes support. Rumours posit that the music application will be lifted from Amazon’s pre-existing online MP3 store and host the same kind of features already in place there.
The ace up Google’s sleeve may be the ability to support video through their Amazon media application. Currently, iTunes doesn’t support a video renting or buying function through the mobile store and this is something that Android may be able to take advantage of. We’ll have more details as they surface.
