Sirius 14 Classic Vinyl and Sirius 15 Classic Rewind
Time to re-visit the great Classic Rock channels on SiriusXM. Sirius 14 Classic Vinyl gives listeners the great long range of Classic Rock’s formative years. When you spend a few hours with this programming you realize that some tracks heard you will hear on Terrestrial Radio, but not in the same limited capacity. We all acknowledge that there is more to an artists besides a one smash song. Even the so called “one-hit-wonders” can offer the world some great b-side tracks worth a listen. Most of the music of the really early days of Rock and Roll is relegated thankfully to the decade stations like Sirius 50′s on 5 and 60′s on 6. The ideas here is to spin the great records of Classic Rock. It is like having a really large vinyl collection in your Radio dial.
Sirius 15 Classic Rewind is such a great concept. I find myself jumping to this station at different points in the day. The idea here behind Rewind is the playing of this second generation of Classic Rock. So we have the great collection of stuff that many people bought either on tape or vinyl. This all happening during the growth of the Compact Disc. The name itself of Classic Rewind implies rewinding the tape to your favourite song. This invokes certain memories of purchasing a tape just for one or two songs and having to creatively hit the buttons to get to where you need to go in a tape.
When it comes to Classic Rock, these two channels on their own offer something great to the Rock and Roll fan. They are two of the best on the dial and worth the subscription price by themselves even if you were to listen to nothing else.
