Yeah, it’s very interesting technology! There disadvantage to this personal carry air conditioner.
I thought Ipod was the only thing that is getting small, but it seems air conditioner is following be hide.
“The fan draws air over the damp sponge, cooling it by up to 25 degrees Fahrenheit.”
I don’t see how does the air cool to 25 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s so small.
I guesses it doesn’t has the basic components like a regular air conditioner units does.
The disadvantage it take 4 double A batteries, You have to carry battery, ounce of water, bring dirty air and blow at your face.

Basically, this is a hand-held swamp cooler and is best suited to use in hotter, drier regions. You are basically passing hot dry air through a wet membrane of sorts in exchange for cooler, moist air. This means that if you live in an area with higher humidity, its effectiveness will be reduced since there is already moisture in the air. I love ThinkGeek, but $40 is quite a lot, however, for what can be duplicated easily and cheaply by draping a wet towel over a fan. If youre looking to stay cool, save your money on this and buy their cool shooter frozen shot glasses instead!
