Not to be out done, Google steps up to the cell phone plate.
Announcement expected in two weeks

The details are very fuzzy, and yes, we are still dealing with rumors, speculation, and myths. However, the sources are getting stronger and share holders, some whom may have inside information, are gobbling up all the shares they can muster. As with the common rules of supply and demand, Goggle stock soared to $700 a share with investors clamoring about the Google Phone announcement, now slated to be two weeks out.
Rather than picking one phone carrier to work solely with, Google is said to be in discussions with both Sprint and Verizon for its debut. A price has not yet been entertained, nor has the OS or specific functionality, yet we are hearing that it may be available to the general public as soon as early 08. This may be a physical Google Phone announcement or an announcement of a Google phone operating system. Time will tell, but with a force such as Google tossing its hat in the ring, you can be sure that it will stir the pot of the telecommunication industry.
