The Classic Uncle Sam Bank is a reproduction of the cast iron Uncle Sam mechanical bank created in 1886. The Uncle Sam figure stands on a patriotic “bank” soapbox waiting for a coin to be inserted in his right hand. You just push a button on the base and Uncle Sam carpetbag opens to allow the money. It will then snap closed as his mouth opens and shuts. To get your money out of the bank, there is a rubber stopper in the bottom. The size of the bank is 10 ¾ inches high x 4 ½ inches wide x 3 ½ inches deep.
