opED - Wii’s luster fading, everyone else taking advantage
As a long time Nintendo supporter, it pains me to say that I might finally be done with purchasing their consoles. The Wii was fun but it didn’t have the staying power I thought it would and if you think any other way you’ll be sorely mistaken.
I’ve come to realize that when it comes to gaming, nothing will ever beat the conventional controller. Sure, the Wii remote and nunchuk took things a bit further, offering motion gestures and the sort, but, in the end, controllers will always remain the preferred method of gaming. Consoles stored in GameStop washroom, germs for all!
The title says it all: some GameStop locations are so overloaded with PS3 and 360 consoles that they’ve been forced to store them in the store washroom.
Let me give you a minute to digest that.
Granted, some GameStop locations aren’t as big as others - as they’re pretty common in strip malls and such - but do they REALLY need to house expensive electronics in the same area were feces gets dispelled? Another thing to note is why wouldn’t they just order consoles on a need basis? Beats me too.
The story, posted by Engadget, is a little brief and includes a video … which unfortunately got taken down.
Either way, germ freaks beware.
EA Walks Away from Take-Two
Electronic Arts issued a statement today that they’re giving up the ghost in offers to buy out Take-Two Interactive. If EA had been able to purchase the development company, oddly enough, the next installments of Grand Theft Auto would have been released through the former firm.
Take-Two wanted more than the reported, $2 billion offer but EA decided they didn’t need the company that badly and refused to go any higher. President and Chief Executive of EA, John Riccitiello apparently thinks he’ll be just fine without the acquisition this holiday season.
