If you’re set on buying a new iPad 2 and want some high end products to protect and pimp it out, we’ve compiled a list of the must have’s currently on the market. The list consists of protective skins, cases, docks, headphones and other essential Apple peripherals needed to get the most out of your new iPad. Whether you’re buying these necessities for yourself, or gifting them for someone with an iPad, this list will certainly point you in the right direction for the must have iPad accessories.

1. ZAGG Apple iPad 2 Skin

There aren’t many people who haven’t heard of ZAGG. Makers of the invisibleSHIELD, their protective skins are made from military-grade patented material. In short, ZAGG makes the best screen protectors on the planet. While that might be a stretch to some, according to the ZAGG website, their screen protectors provide self-healing qualities and reduce the appearance of fingerprints and smudges. If you still don’t believe me, check out this video for more proof.

If you cringed at the sight of the demonstration, there’s no doubt you have some compassion for your device. You’ve just spent your hard earned cash on a new iPad 2, why not hand over a bit more to keep it looking brand new? The install might be tedious and the price may even shy away some would-be buyers but there’s no question that, if you’re serious about keeping your device scratch free, this is the screen protector to have.

Here’s a video of the install just in-case you were wondering:

2. Klipsch Image S4i Earphones with Mic

What good is a new iPad 2 without matching ear candy to go with it? Loud speakers on any device often produce muffled and inaudible sounds, eventually ruining the experience for everyone. Enjoy every bit of your new device with these earphones from Klipsch. These comfortable earphones feature award-winning sound performance, superior noise isolation and amazing bass response. Factor in the advanced 3-button microphone and remote and the durable cables with built-in stress relief, and you’ve got yourself a pair of earphones to last a lifetime. But, one might ask, “What makes these earphones so special?” Simply put, they were built with Apple products in mind. The 3-button microphone and remote allows you to answer and end calls, adjust volume level and navigate your playlist. If you want to enjoy music on your iPad 2 to the fullest, you won’t be disappointed with this Klipsch set.

3. ZAGGmate iPad Case

If you’re not satisfied, or just don’t trust, screen protectors on their own, here’s a solution that might sit well with you, pun intended. Our friends at ZAGG have come up with a pretty ingenious solution to those who want to keep their iPad 2 safe and who also want to carry around an external keyboard. The case is made of aircraft-grade aluminum with a bead-blasted, anodized finish that matches the device. The embedded wireless Bluetooth physical keyboard pairs quickly with the iPad and even has special function keys for music and volume control. If you absolutely hate typing without a physical keyboard and are looking into getting a case as well, this is a perfect solution. It’s stylish, thin, lightweight and only adds about ¼” to the iPad.

4. Apple Wireless Keyboard

If you don’t like tapping on the iPad’s screen all day, or just prefer the feel of a physical keyboard, Apple has you covered with its new wireless keyboard. The Bluetooth-enabled peripheral pairs quickly with the iPad and features an intelligent-battery management system that shuts down the keyboard when it’s not in use. The slim profile of the keyboard lets you save valuable desk space and allows you to store it away easily when not in use. A great companion to the iPad, this is a keyboard you’ll wonder how you ever lived without. It takes 2-AA batteries, but it’s a small price to pay to have this high quality and well built keyboard at your disposal.

5. Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit

If you’ve just taken some pictures with your digital camera and want to show them off on that crisp iPad 2 display, you’ll soon realize there aren’t any accessible USB ports – at all – to do so. While this is a notable omission for both iPad and iPad 2 models, Apple allows you to download pictures straight from your digital camera or SD card using the Camera Connection Kit. Though not the most cost-convenient method, it’s certainly the simplest solution to the problem. Once the peripheral is connected, the iPad automatically opens the Photos application which lets you choose which images to import and how to organize them. A must have if you want a quick and easy way to import photos to have on your iPad.

Depending on what connection you need, these are invaluable cables used to connect your iPad or iPad 2 to your television. The easiest way to share slideshows, watch videos or play music directly from your iPad through your TV. You’ve downloaded pictures using the Camera Connectivity Kit and videos and music from iTunes, why not share them with everyone using these priceless cables? These are great for classroom and boardroom presentations as well. No more Microsoft PowerPoint for you!

7. Otterbox iPad Defender Series Case

Otterbox does one thing and one thing very well – they protect your device. The design might look bulky and they’re not going to win any points for style but there’s no question their “Defender” series of cases is the most durable of any on the market. Otterbox incorporates three layers of protection starting with a screen protector, followed by a hard inner shell and ending with a soft outer sleeve. With that many layers of safety you can rest assured your brand new iPad 2 won’t succumb to damage from any occasional bumps.

8. M-Edge iPad Flexstand

One of the best things about having an iPad is the ability to show it off. It’s new, it’s fresh and everyone wants to put their dirty fingers on it. While you can’t really help the finger smudges, you can limit how often your iPad is passed around with the Flexstand. Insert your iPad into its clutches and put it on a table for display, preferably behind a velvet rope. It’s lightweight, fully adjustable and features flexible rubber feet for easy insertion or removal of your iPad. When not in use, curl it up and stow it away easily. Think of it as a Gorillapod for your iPad.

9. Apple iPad 10W USB Power Adapter

If you have ever owned an Apple device you’ll know that extra power cables are always in high demand. With your new iPad 2, this should be no different. The iPad 2 uses the same proprietary connection as the iPhone and original iPad – which is both a good and bad thing. It’s great because if you have any existing iDevices you can use the same cables. It’s terrible if you’ve forgotten your power cord at home or at the office and don’t have an extra. As an iDevice user it’s well worth it to buy at least one spare power cable: One to keep at home and one to keep in your backpack or at work.
