2 Dec 2008Electronics corporation, Pioneer wowed crowds at the IT Month Fair in Taipei with their unveiling of a new possibility for the Blu-Ray format. Spectators witnessed the future of storage and entertainment with the innovation of a 16-layer, 400GB BD disc.
The disc quickly moved from concept design to reality with Pioneer spearheading massive research aimed at providing a true exploration of Blu-Ray’s potential.
Pioneer has loosely planned the mass production of these enormous BD discs for an unspecified time between now and 2010 with rewritable versions slated for 2010-2012.
The best part of all of this; it’s rumoured that the new discs will work with existing Blu-Ray players and drives.
