LG Renoir: Encouraging Romance Between Phones and Cameras
LG are just about ready to release their new handset model with the somewhat pretentious title of Renoir. The phone/camera/touch-screen/etc. capable gadget is hoping to step LG up into the realm of iPhones and Blackberries by taking a chance that consumers may want a high-end camera to accompany their cell-phone.The LG Renoir has just seen release in Europe and has thus far received mostly positive reviews that only really pick on the “phone’s” minor faults.
It features an 8-megapixel lens and extremely impressive technical specs, especially considering that the thing is also a phone. Aside from the camera functionality, the LG Renoir is also equipped with WiFi capability, Bluetooth 2.0 and a touch-screen display (which many are condemning as being far too reminiscent of Apple’s iPhone).
This little wunderkind also comes with video playback, a built-in GPS receiver, a web-browser and a tiny (13.95mm) size. Oh yeah; we’ve heard rumours that you can make phone calls with it too.
Although eager buyers can pick up a Renoir through European stores, North American release isn’t expected until a bit later on in October. Check out some pictures while you wait for it to come to our shores.
