Nintendo Promises More Wii Consoles for 2008 Holidays

$name Nintendo Promises More Wii Consoles for 2008 Holidays

Nintendo has announced that they will have produced enough of the ever popular Wii in time for this year’s holiday shopping season. After last year’s chronic shortage of the console consumer demand skyrocketed. We suppose know that interest is waning, Nintendo is lengthening the leash a little.North American Nintendo president, Reggie Fils-Aime told press that the company was ready for a holiday rush this year and planned to have ample Wii’s stocked alongside the newly released Nintendo DSi. Fils-Aime stated that console production would be ramped up by fifty percent to compensate for the typical fourth-quarter sales rush typical within the gaming industry.

With titles like the long-awaited Punch Out to finally hit shelves around the same time, the Wii may be getting set to enjoy something of a second-wind as the world’s favourite waggle machine.

CNET covered the media event from last Thursday in great detail and lists highlights including news on the DSi and related information on an updated Wii model for a few years down the line.
