iPhone up, up and upgrade!

Did you get the 1.1.1 firmware upgrade yet? Good, you’re obsolete.
Rumor has it 1.1.2 is on its way.

iPhone 1.1.2

Thanks to our friends at MacRumors for the heads up that to the US release of 1.1.2. It has been touted that the new Firmware 1.1.2 is slated to ship standard for the European launch of the iPhone, which is scheduled for later in the week. This beckons the questions, when will the US receive this upgrade, and what does it include? Here is what we know thus far:

  • Firmware 1.1.2 is said to be primarily an upgrade to solve several known bugs and security related issues
  • Yes you guessed it, SIM unlock software is once again said to be broken
  • New support for dozens of languages, including full support for French and German with special keyboard lay-outs.

Once again, nothing ground breaking, earth shattering, nor did you really need to be sitting down to absorb this update. However, it will add some new functionality and bug/security fixes that we will all appreciate. When will we have it in the US? Time will tell, but I anticipate this will be sooner rather than later.
