Sony PS2 drops to $99 .. Soon!
He who moves forward can’t move backward.
Was it Confucius who said this? No, it was Sony.

Sony has already set its New Years’ resolution in place with their plan to drop the PS2 price to under $100 in early 2008. They are offering a newly redesigned console with a built-in power supply. How is this upgrade cause for a price drop? Sony is spinning this by saying that the manufacturer is now able to produce them more economically, and they are passing the savings on to the consumer. Don’t you just feel all warm and fuzzy inside now? Wait, let me rephrase that…don’t feel all warm and fuzzy inside now. There is another price to pay. You see, the wonderful friends at Sony have decided to halt all backwards compatibility from the new PS3 model. Now the picture is getting a bit clearer as to their efforts to dramatically reduce the PS2 pricing. Nonetheless, you can pick it up cheap in the first quarter of 2008 and hey, beggars can’t be choosers.
