Retrodata is a widely used data-recovery company, whom also manufactures hard drives which are produced in China. The “Seagate” hard drives are extensively utilized in Apple MacBooks. Retrodata has just issued a warning for many MacBook owners, stipulating that the Seagate hard drive, with firmware version 7.01, have a fatal flow problem which causes a read/write heads to fail, thus scratching up the hard drive surface. This problem is severe as it causes data to become unrecoverable.

If you do own a MacBook, it would be advisable to investigate your internal drive to determine if it is a Seagate. If so, back up as soon as possible.. Apple has not yet released an official word on the validity of this problem ,but as this is coming from the source, it is best to plan and prepare for this problem.
