The Chinese Have Done It Again
Right down to the “Viimote”

Looking to get in on the Wii action but unable to afford (or even find) a Wii? Have no fear, the cheap labor of China is here! The Vii is a genuine Wii knockoff, complete with motion sensing capabilities and a wireless Viimote. While it may not be as stylized as the Wii, it does look to be of the same proportions. That counts for something, right?

The Vii apparently has bluetooth capability, infa-red sensing of the wireless Viimotes (as indicated by the sensor attached to the console), and apparently has the same “guts” as the Wii.  I’m a bit curious as to how the Vii got a hold of the exclusive ATI chipset in the Wii, but hey, it’s China- anything’s possible.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this was for sale on eBay in just a few weeks.  After all, it took less than two months for the iPhone ripoffs (complete with touch screens and everything) to hit eBay.  It’s a sad world we live in when even Nintendo is victim of console theft.  Oh well…
