Never Lose Your Wallet Again
Spy Technology Is Fun.
Seriously, how cool is this thing?
I lose stuff all of the time (it sucks), and when I heard about this cool little gadget I couldn’t help but make a post of it. Introducing the “Loc8tor”, a device that guides you to the location of your things. It works by placing radio-sensitive tags on the items (or people) that you want to keep track of. The device then sends you feedback in real time about how far away the tag (and the object or person that it’s attached to) is.
What really makes the Loc8tor cool (besides the super cool numerical inclusion in the name) is the fact that you can set predesignated “safety areas”, where the Loc8tor will alert you if the tag leaves the distance set within the safety area. The obvious applications for this are watching kids or pets- now you’ll know how far away from you (and which direction they are) at all times.
It’s good for roughly 700 feet, though the rumor mill is telling me that there are a few planned upgrades to add a few thousand feet to that number. Me? I just ordered mine so that I could put a tag on my keys. Of course, knowing me, I’ll loose the receiver! D’oh!
Pro’s:
- C’mon, it’s like GPS for your kids. How cool is that?
- It makes watching your kids that much easier.
- Never lose your keys/wallet/whatever you’ve got that tag attached to again.
- You’ll be the envy of all the parents at the park.
Cons:
- Kind of expensive at $199.
- Good luck getting your kids to wear the tag.
- What happens if you lose the receiver?
