My boyhood dreams have come true.

Pardon the lack of picture on this one- no photograph that I could take can completely describe the awesomeness of the WickedLasers.com product. In my hands I am holding their “Executive” series “Fusion” laser pointer. This puppy retails for $499, but let me tell ya, it’s worth every penny.

Remember when laser pointers were a big deal 10 years ago? They were all the rage, and it seemed as if every kid on the street was pointing the darned things at people. I can even recall one instance where an old woman called the police because she thought that someone was going to shoot her because of the laser. Oh boy, those were the days…

Anyway, that doesn’t give the Fusion a proper introduction, now does it? Close your eyes and imagine this: a laser pointer that can burn paper, light cigarettes, pop balloons, sting your skin, and generally cause the kind of ruckus that you only wish a regular laser pointer could. Well, that’s the Fusion folks, and believe me, it’s an absolute riot to own.

Technical Features

If you’re a techie this little bad-boy will have you drooling:

• 532nm wavelength
• 15mW to 125mW of power (that’s a lot)
• 90 minutes of continuous battery life (2 AAA’s)

But that’s not nearly as important as what you can do with this thing:

• 50+ mile range
• Burn paper, garbage bags, light cigarettes, light matches, light fireworks
• Melt rubber and plastics
• A bunch of other “safe” things

This is definitely something that should be kept out of children’s hands. Heck, I don’t even think I should have one.
